JOY PART 3

Beloved, joy is it; go for joy, seek joy for you are a kingdom’s citizen. It amazes me when I see Christians with heavy and sad faces – your face tells your heart. It was joy in the heart of Jesus as an act of gratitude that made Him to rejoice and burst into praise and say,

“All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.” (Luk 10:22)

Some believers are too tense and sad for God to turn His face towards their direction, they look so sad that they discourage God’s presence. A sad heart is evil, think evil, and conclude evil and this keeps joy so far from such. You cannot be joyful except you are grateful. It is gratitude that provokes joy.

“Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.” (Jas 5:13)

Any heart that will be grateful will be thankful and if you are thankful, you will be joyful. To be joyful (Merry), is like medicine but a broken spirit is destructive (Prov. 17:22)

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” (Prov 17:22)

No matter what, have joy, avoid heavy countenance, a sad heart is destructive. Your heart can not be full of joy and you are down and depressed by the enemy. Godly joy carries such an unexplainable power against oppression, sickness etc. but apart from that, joy procures for the believer, God’s presence and in His presence all opposition bows, darkness disappear at His presence.

“Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.” (Psa 16:11)

Lack of joy in a man’s life is Satan’s device to bring one out of God’s presence, so the enemy can effectively have upper hand. Many Christians are falling victim of Satan’s devices, they complain and murmur until they are separated from His presence. Let us pray like David, “Show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy…”

If you want God’s best in your life, make up your mind to make joy your life style. If you do not want to be stranded in the journey of life, you need to seek the consistent flow of the oil of joy – until you are joyful, you don’t have a song of praise.

“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” (Isa 61:3)
